Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 25, 2026

Centinel Finance, Inc., a Delaware corporation (the “Company”) is committed to maintaining robust privacy protections for its users.  Our Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) is designed to help you understand how we collect, use and safeguard the information you provide to us and to assist you in making informed decisions when using our Service.

‍

For purposes of this Privacy Policy, “Site” refers to the Company’s website, which can be accessed at www.centinelmoney.com and any other websites that link to this Privacy Policy. “App” refers to any mobile or web application we provide that links to or references this Privacy Policy. “Service” refers collectively to the Site, App, and any related services, including email waitlists, forms, and the Centinel personal finance tools. The terms “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the Company. “You” and “your” refer to you, as a user of our Site, App, or our Service. By accessing our Site or our Service, you accept our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use (found here), and you consent to our collection, storage, use and disclosure of your Personal Information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site, App, or the Service.

‍

I. Information We Collect

We collect “Non-Personal Information” and “Personal Information.” “Non‑Personal Information” means information that does not, on its own, identify an individual (for example, aggregated statistics or de‑identified usage data). We may combine Non‑Personal Information with Personal Information; where we do, we will treat the combined data as Personal Information. “Personal Information” means information that identifies, relates to, describes, or can reasonably be linked to an individual person or household. This may include identifiers such as your name, email address, and account information, as well as financial information that we obtain (with your permission) from third parties like Plaid and Stripe. If, in the future, the Site allows you to submit user‑generated content such as comments or testimonials, we may collect and display the content you choose to provide, along with any information you include in that content.

‍

A. Information You Provide Directly

We collect Personal Information that you voluntarily provide to us, such as when you: Join a waitlist or sign up for email updates (for example, your name and email address); Create an account in the App or Service (for example, your name, email address, and any profile or settings information you choose to provide); Submit a contact form or otherwise communicate with us (for example, the content of your message and any contact details you choose to provide); Respond to surveys, request product information, or provide feedback; Submit any other information or content directly to us (for example, user‑generated content such as testimonials if we enable that feature in the future).

‍

B. Financial Information via Plaid

If you choose to link your bank or financial accounts through the Service, we work with a third‑party service provider, Plaid Inc. (“Plaid”), to securely connect to your financial institution. When you link an account, Plaid may collect your financial institution login credentials directly from you and will not share those credentials with us. Instead, Plaid provides us with certain financial information you authorize, which may include: Identifiers and account details (e.g., bank name, account type, masked account numbers); Account balances; Transactions and related metadata (e.g., dates, amounts, merchant names, categories); Recurring transactions (e.g., recurring income and bill payments); Credit card information (e.g., statement balances, minimum payments).

‍

We use this data to power the Centinel forward‑looking personal finance features (for example, to forecast your future checking account balance based on your recurring income and expenses). Plaid’s use of your data is governed by Plaid’s own privacy policy, which you should review.

‍

We use Plaid to connect your financial accounts. By using Centinel to link a financial account, you acknowledge and agree that your information will be collected, used, transferred, and disclosed by Plaid in accordance with the Plaid End User Privacy Policy, available at https://plaid.com/legal. Plaid collects your financial-institution login credentials directly from you and does not share those credentials with Centinel. We do not make, and you should not rely on us for, any representation about Plaid's data practices that is inconsistent with Plaid's own privacy policy; Plaid's collection and use of your data is governed solely by Plaid's policy, which we encourage you to review.

‍

C. Payment Information via Stripe

If you purchase a Subscription, your payment is processed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe, Inc. (“Stripe”), through a checkout page hosted outside the App Store. We do not collect, receive, or store your full payment card number or card security code. We may receive limited information from Stripe — such as the last four digits of your card, card type, expiration date, billing name/email, amount, and transaction identifiers — which we use for recordkeeping, fraud prevention, customer support, and to manage your Subscription. Refunds for Subscriptions are handled by us in accordance with our Refund Policy discussed in our Terms of Use. Stripe's handling of your payment information is governed by Stripe's own privacy policy, which you should review.

‍

D. Information Collected Automatically (Cookies, Logs, and Analytics)

When you visit or use the Site, App, or Service, we (and our third‑party providers) may automatically collect certain information from your browser, device, or activity. This may include: The website you came from (the “referring URL”); The pages you visit and links you click; The date and time of your visit and how long you stay on each page; Search terms you enter on the Site or within the App; General location information (such as city and state) based on your IP address; Information about your browser and device (such as browser type and version, operating system, and screen resolution); App usage events (such as opening the app, navigating between screens, or using specific features).

‍

We may collect this information through cookies and similar technologies (small text files stored on your device), as well as through server logs and analytics tools. We may use both persistent cookies (which remain on your device until deleted) and session cookies (which expire when you close your browser). For example, we store persistent cookies to track your preferences (such as cookie settings or whether you have previously dismissed notifications).

‍

You can typically control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling cookies may affect the functionality of some parts of the Service. We use analytics tools such as Google Analytics (GA4) and PostHog to help us understand how users interact with the Site and App, diagnose technical issues, and improve our features. These providers collect information such as your IP address, device identifiers, browser type, pages viewed, and time spent on pages, which they process on our behalf to provide aggregated usage statistics. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies or allow these analytics providers to use the information they collect from our Service to serve you targeted ads on other websites.

‍

E. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for users who are at least 18 years old, and we do not direct the Service to children. Consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect Personal Information from anyone under the age of 13. We use a neutral age screen at sign-up that does not default to any age or encourage users to misstate their age. If we learn we have collected Personal Information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it as soon as reasonably practicable. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us Personal Information, contact us at support@centinelmoney.com.

‍

II. How We Use Information

In general, we use Personal Information to help us operate, provide, improve, and secure the Service. For example, we may use your information to: Provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including forecasting your future checking account balance and displaying insights about your income, expenses, and cash flow; Create and manage your account, authenticate you when you log in, and personalize your experience; Communicate with you, including responding to your questions, sending service‑related announcements (such as security alerts, technical notices, and policy updates), and providing customer support; Send you marketing or promotional communications about features, offers, or updates we think may interest you (you may opt out of marketing at any time as described below); Analyze how users access and use the Service, to understand trends, diagnose problems, and improve our design and features; Protect the security and integrity of the Service, detect and prevent fraud, unauthorized access, or other harmful activity; Comply with legal obligations, such as maintaining appropriate business records, responding to lawful requests, and enforcing our Terms of Use.

‍

We may also use Non‑Personal Information (such as aggregated or de‑identified usage statistics) for research, analytics, and business purposes, including to understand how people use the Service and to improve our product roadmap. This Privacy Policy does not limit our use or disclosure of Non‑Personal Information, provided it does not identify you.

‍

III. How We Share Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your Personal Information to third parties for their marketing purposes. We may share Personal Information in the following situations:

‍

A. Service Providers

We may share your Personal Information with vendors and service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as: Cloud hosting and storage providers (e.g., AWS); Bank connectivity providers (e.g., Plaid); Payment processors (e.g., Stripe); Email service providers and customer support tools; Analytics providers and error‑tracking tools.

‍

These service providers are authorized to use your Personal Information only as necessary to provide services to us and are required to protect it consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

‍

B. Business Transfers

If we undergo a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our assets, your Personal Information may be transferred as part of that transaction. Any acquirer will be required to protect your Personal Information in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy or provide you notice and any rights you may have under applicable law.

‍

C. Legal Requirements and Protection of Rights

We may disclose your Personal Information if we have a good‑faith belief that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to: meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request; enforce our Terms of Use or other agreements, including investigating potential violations; detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues; protect against harm to the rights, property, or safety of our users, the public, or the Company, as required or permitted by law.

‍

D. With Your Consent

We may share your information with third parties for any other purpose disclosed to you and with your consent.

‍

IV. Your Choices and Rights

A. Marketing Communications

You have the right at any time to prevent us from contacting you for marketing purposes. When we send a promotional email, you can opt out of further promotional communications by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in that email. Even if you opt out of marketing emails, we may continue to send you administrative or transactional emails (for example, security alerts, service updates, or information about your account).

‍

B. Access, Update, or Delete Your Information

You may access, correct, or update certain Personal Information through your account settings (where available) or by contacting us at support@centinelmoney.com. You may also request that we delete your Personal Information, subject to certain exceptions (for example, where we are required to retain information for legal or accounting purposes). We will respond to your request within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable laws.

‍

When you request deletion, we will delete your Personal Information from our active systems and, to the extent feasible, from our backups, or we will de‑identify it so that it no longer identifies you. Please note that it may take some time for backup copies to be overwritten.

‍

In-app account deletion. You can initiate deletion of your Account from within the Centinel app at Settings > Account > Delete Account. When you request deletion, we will: (i) revoke and delete the Plaid access tokens for your linked accounts and stop retrieving financial data; (ii) delete your Account Information and Plaid-derived financial data from our active systems within 30 days; (iii) cancel any active Subscription so you are not billed again; and (iv) allow any copies in encrypted backups to expire on their normal rotation cycle, after which they are deleted. Certain records may be retained longer where required by law or for legitimate purposes (for example, payment and tax records, retained for up to 7 years, and information needed for fraud prevention or legal compliance).  Deleting the Centinel app from your device does not delete your Account or cancel your Subscription; to cancel a Subscription, go to Settings > Manage Subscription.

‍

C. U.S. State Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence, you may have some or all of the rights below, subject to exceptions under applicable law (including, where applicable, exemptions for information governed by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act ("GLBA")):

  • Know/Access— the categories and specific pieces of Personal Information we collected, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclose it.
  • Delete— deletion of Personal Information we collected from you.
  • Correct— correction of inaccurate Personal Information.
  • Portability— a copy of certain Personal Information in a portable format.
  • Opt out of sale/share/targeted advertising and profiling— We do not sell or share your Personal Information, do not use it for targeted advertising, and do not profile you in furtherance of decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects; there is therefore nothing to opt out of, but you may still submit a request.
  • Limit use of sensitive Personal Information — to the extent we process sensitive Personal Information (which may include financial account information), we use it only to provide the Service you requested and for other purposes permitted without a right to limit under applicable law.
  • Non-discrimination— we will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

‍

How to exercise. Email support@centinelmoney.com describing your request. You may use an authorized agent where permitted by law; we may require proof of the agent's authorization and may require you to verify your identity directly.

‍

Verification. We will verify your identity before responding, which may include verifying control of the email address associated with your account. Because we handle financial data, we may apply a heightened verification standard.

‍

Timing. We will respond within the time required by applicable law (generally within 45 days, extendable once by up to 45 additional days where permitted, with notice to you of any extension).

‍

Appeals. If we deny your request, you may appeal by emailing support@centinelmoney.com with the subject line "Privacy Appeal." We will respond within the period required by applicable law (generally 45–60 days). If your appeal is denied, you may contact your state Attorney General.

‍

V. Cookies and Do Not Track

As noted above, we use cookies and similar technologies to collect certain usage information and improve the Service. Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default, but you can usually modify browser settings to decline cookies or alert you when a cookie is being sent. If you choose to disable cookies, some features of the Service may not function properly.

‍

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (“DNT”) setting, which is intended to signal to websites that you do not wish to be tracked. There is no accepted standard for how to respond to DNT signals, and we do not currently respond to DNT. We limit our tracking to the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and do not track users across third‑party websites for targeted advertising.

‍

VI. How We Protect Information

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect Personal Information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure, including encryption of data in transit and at rest, access controls, and network protections. The specific measures we use may change as we improve our security program. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot and do not guarantee the absolute security of your information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials; if you believe your account is no longer secure, contact us immediately at support@centinelmoney.com.

‍

VII. Links to Other Websites or Services

As part of the Service, we may provide links to or compatibility with other websites, applications, or online services. However, we are not responsible for the privacy practices employed by those third parties or the information or content they provide. This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by us through the Site, App, and Service.

‍

To the extent that you access or use the Service through or on another website or application, or navigate to a third‑party website from our Service, the privacy policy of that other website or application will apply to your use of that site or application. We encourage our users to read the privacy statements of other websites before proceeding to use them.

‍

VIII. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by (for example) sending an email to the primary email address associated with your account and/or by placing a prominent notice on our Site or in the App. Material changes will generally take effect 30 days after such notice, unless a different effective date is stated.

‍

Non‑material changes or clarifications will take effect immediately when posted. You should periodically check the Site and this Privacy Policy for updates. Your continued use of the Service after any changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
